The Pigeons' Rule

‘The Pigeons’ Rule’ is a comic about pigeons. You may not see them, but they are there.

New strips will be posted three times a week. New strips are currently being posted once a week, on Mondays, although I hope to return to three weekly strips soon enough.

I’ll try to create coherent, funny strips that work independently, while at the same time building stories with an arc that gives you, the reader, a reason to come back periodically and get totally hooked and then buy umpteen prints. Hehehe. Don’t read that.

Below follows the famed cast:

Mateo Just an average guy. A nice person. Slightly fidgety, perhaps. OK, yes. Fidgety. Pretty grey life. Has a day job, which takes up most of his time. Gets home late to a rather impersonal 57-floor skyscraper (he lives in the 9th floor). One fateful day, on his way to a community meeting, he goes astray and gets himself lured to the building’s rooftop. There, he is happy ever after. OK, not really. First appearance:  1 – What’s In a Letter

Sammy Sammy is Mateo’s gorgeous neighbor from the 48th floor. We know she has two dogs, Vito and Quillo; we know the Limanda has an interest in her; and we know Mateo does as well —albeit the former is by far the most sucessful. First appearance: 44 – Elevated. Not.

Mr MacKrull Mr MacKrull is a superpowerful entity with omniscient knowledge of everything taking place in the building. He can freeze people with his gaze, and can block your train of thought by making a triangle with his hands. First appearance: 53 – Talk To The Hands (Dream version: 36 – In Your Dreams)

Bermutiero (Bermie) Malone One of three Malones, chubby fellows whose sole purpose in life seems to be the pursuit of the Great Kudu. Bermie seems bossy and patronizing, which may qualify him as their leader. First appearance: 3 – New Adventures in RGB

Philipp Malone One of the Malones, probably second-in-command. He bosses Kolia around when he feels bossed around by Bermie. He has a quiet personality, although he may have something to hide. If you ask me, he does. First appearance: 3 – New Adventures in RGB

Nikolai Dementiev (Kolia) Malone The last of the Malones. His personality is simple and chaotic. In appearance, he is last in the chain of command. In fact, he is in a completely different league. He has the upper hand of having shown certain psychic powers. His first and middle names seem to indicate a Slavic background, which may or may not be entirely misleading. The Great Kudu All we know about the Great Kudu is the Malones want it caged. First appearance: None yet. By mention: 3 – New Adventures in RGB

Nuno A rodent-like cute furry creature. Nonchalant as he is, Nuno has a dignity to him that commends him among the rooftop inhabitants, which I seriously doubt is something to be taken as a compliment. He likes fishing. His idea of fishing and yours, however, may have nothing to do with each other. First appearance: 5 – Someone Wants Something Done Right

The Limanda He, err… she? err, the Limanda is, as Nuno says, an odd duck. Not really a duck , but really, really odd. It walks funny, gesticulate funny and speaks… not. We don’t know what it’s up to but, like Kolia, it seems to have an ace up its sleeve, psychicpower-wise speaking. First appearance: 12 – Uncanny
